Jacob Waugh

With baseball season upon us, I am excited to finally feature Jacob Waugh. Jacob is a senior at Edgewood High School and will graduate with honors in the class of 2022. I cannot say enough good things about this young man. He is kind, respectful, smart and funny. He is one of the kindest seniors I have had the privilege to know. This guy works hard in all that he does weather it is academically, serving his community, as well as on and off the baseball field.

Jacob is the president of the National Honor Society, the secretary of French Club, a Mustang Mentor, a tutor and is being considered for a National Merit Scholarship. He is also a Lilly Scholarship finalist. Although Jacob has not made an official decision on a school, he has been accepted to IU, Butler and Notre Dame. He has received two full ride offers from IU. One of those is Kelly scholars from the Kelly School of Business and one called the Cox Research Scholarship from the Cox Scholars. He was also a finalist for the IU Wells Scholarship, also a full ride scholarship. He is currently awaiting to hear from Washington University, UPenn, Duke, Yale, and Northeastern University in Boston.

Outside of school he is involved in his church along with community service. He also works in the RBBCSC Latch-Key program. He never envisioned himself working with kids, but the elementary kids just love him aka “Mr. Jake” and he works hard to be a supportive, caring and fun role model for them.

At five years old, Jacob began a love for baseball. He has played travel ball since he was six and playing with the Indiana Inferno for the past seven years. Jacob is playing his last year of varsity baseball at Edgewood High School and looks forward to a great 2022 season! He has accomplished so much already and I know that he has a strong work ethic already, which will carry him thru anything life throws his way. I wish him nothing but the very best and I cannot wait to see all of the wonderful things he will contribute to this world in the future. Best of luck to you Jake in all of your future endeavors.
