Together again
This military family has missed being together on a regular basis for quite some time now. Katelynn and Logan have been apart for nearly two years. They wanted to get some sweet moments captured to cherish over the coming months as they will be apart again. We were able to squeeze this sweet time in at the last minute, and I think it’s safe to say, we are all so glad we could make it work.
Let me just tell you, this session wasn’t all butterflies and roses. It was hot. The kids wanted to play. They didn’t want to stand still and look at a camera on cue and who could blame them? Katelynn had everyone’s clothes picked out, and she carefully had them put on the “picture clothes” right before the shoot so that they wouldn’t mess up anything for the shoot, just like any of the rest of us would do! On my end, I would not have cared one bit if they had been sweaty or had dirt marks on their clothes because, well, that is real life people. But I have been in her shoes with little ones and I GET IT. They all looked so nice and Esthers little outfit was just adorable. Katelynn amazed me that she could show up with her hair in a bun, take it down, and her hair was beautiful and wavy!
There were melt downs going on and Katelyn looked at me once or twice with a look like “this isn’t going to work, is it?” On top of the few melt downs, Esther was insistent that the yellow chair I brought out was hers and she really didnt want to be away from it or let anyone else be in it for that matter, ha. She knows what she wants and she’s pretty much the boss! I knew Katelynn needed my calmness and reassurance!
Noah was so very sweet and such a people pleaser. He was so humble with his siblings and just went with whatever they were doing. He actually really enjoyed getting his photo taken alone, and that smile he gave me a few times gave it away. He can roll with just about anything and is just such a sweet soul.
Ezekiel was really wanting to just play and find frogs with his brother and sister. He seems like the affectionate one of the three and was drawn to cuddling up with his sister. He has always said that Esther is “his baby”. How cute is that? He would quickly switch to wanting to be with his brother, even sitting on him many times. I think his favorite part of the session was running along the path from Noah and Esther!
